SUNDAY 10TH JUNE

Thanks and Big Love to everybody who came down and made the re-imagining of Pikes On Sundays so special last week. A fantastic turnout from regular faces and plenty of new faces to get to know in the future. Just what Sundays are all (or should be) about.

An impromptu Temple Of Wonders style set from Justin Robertson – setting the bar pretty highly for future guests of The Brothers – being a particular highlight poolside as the sun went down was not the only surprise for those eager or seasoned enough to hang around until later.  Our extended session in Freddies once again saw Stephane Ghenacia take control of the decks alongside the future sound of the balearic underground Real Gang Soundsystem into the early hours of Monday morning.
Guests poolside this week joining the Brothers are family favourite David Phillips and regular ‘brother from another mother’ Big Jon Woodall. It remains to be seen who we have lined up for Freddies from 23:00. Well, we know who it is like but… Let’s just say its vital for you to come down to this one!
The Sunday Roasts sold out by Friday last week so if you want to reserve a table act fast and give Pikes a call on 0034 971 34 22 22.

Come dine, drink and dance with us!

SUNDAY 3RD JUNE

Pikes On Sundays is back!

Incredible scenes in Manchester this Sunday gone. Sights and sounds you people couldn’t possibly imagine! Jesting aside however it really was off-the-hook good to be in England during the summertime with the sun on our faces for the first time since last time listening to a collection of my favourite DJs laying down some serious music for a full daytime/nighttime session. A collection of friends and family as big as we’ve seen since the halcyon days of the Space Openings (ours) years back. Thanks and BIG LOVE to one and all for keeping the faith and supporting our ventures in far off lands (Manchester) these past two years, they truly are rather special times. Now what the fuck was the name of that 80’s track Ruf Dug played at the end of his set?!? Jesus!

So on arriving home feeling elated and yet slightly jaded and degraded it was truly wonderful to hear that we have had a reprieve on our current Sunday daytime ban at Pikes. And so, it gives us great pleasure to be able to announce the return of Pikes On Sundays, the most loved Sunday session on this fair isle!

Pikes On Sundays, and a return for The Brothers Grim to their spiritual home and the new booth that was custom made for them during the winter months. We’ve waited with baited breath to get back poolside and been digging deep in our collections for this extended opening set and so onwards and upwards, here it is. Summertime. The peoples favourite. Pikes On Sundays 14:00 – 00:00 Poolside at Pikes Hotel.

Finishing up midnight poolside we then open the doors to the infamous Freddies once again and extend into the night with Tales Of The Unexpected. Unexpected because we don’t really know who’s going to turn up, because we don’t know who’s going to play and because we don’t know how long we’ll get away with offering up some of the hottest acts on the island for fuck all to the lucky golden ticket holders. Tickets will be available during the daytime Sunday session and anywhere else you see The Brothers this week.

The famous Pikes roast is back in action and firing on all cylinders. We’ve already got a lot of reservations made so to book your table give Pikes a call on 0034 971 34 22 22.

But before Sunday, there’s Friday… First stop this week will be for our bi-weekly Summer residency at the delightful Hostel La Torre where we’ll be soundtracking the suns gentle decent into the shimmering blue Mediterranean from 19:00. We stand strong together as witness to this daily celestial event and play on in to the early dusk and beyond so if your around do stay and keep us company. Come say hello, were nice guys…well, one of us is anyway.

And then after Sunday come Tuesdays! They come around quickly on Ibiza and they generally come equipped with a fluffy or slightly damaged brain so it gives us great pleasure to announce something new starting this week at Pikes and continuing through the summer each and every Tuesday. Grim & Wilson Present a Balearic Brunch. Ambient and soulful sounds to help bring you round, carefully curated by Brother Grim and Andy Wilson.

Starting at 11:00 Tuesday morning until the the complimentary Bulldog Gin cocktails run out around 16:00. The specially created Tuesday only breakfast/brunch menu compliments the gin perfectly and can only be described as the essential cure for Monday night excesses. So if you’ve been disco dancing to The Black Madonna, Honey Dijon or Harvey at Pikes the night before or raving your tits off DC10 stylie then we think poolside at Pikes is the perfect place to rest your weary heads.

So there you have it! The return of Pikes On Sundays, a sunset set at Hostal La Torre, a brand new Tuesday residency and Tales Of The Unexpected rounding out your weekend! What a time to be alive!

TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED – 27th MAY

With everybody and anybody arriving on our fair shores this week for the IMS (Irritable Mouth Syndrome anyone ?!?) our thoughts turn to the summer ahead, there’s no more denying it, it’s in the bloody bag, Summer is here…

Gone are the clean streets and empty pavements in the old town, replaced by the hoards of Euro techno tourists descending on the cheap pizza joints and fridge magnet shops in and around Dalt Villa. Time to head for the hills. The Hills of San Antonio to be precise.

And so we continue. After the success of our soft opening a few weeks back we once again open the doors of Freddies this Sundays for the start of what will be our summer season. An invite only house party for friends and family old and new showcasing the best in underground house. The invite is this summers golden ticket and allows the bearer to enter into the mystical world of Pikes Hotel after dark, opening up a whole new set of experiences for the senses than have previously never been experienced at Pikes on Sundays.

Our guests remain unannounced but anybody who has ever attended a Grim Brothers production will have the faith and trust in our bringing only the best and most interesting acts to the table. Shaun Reeves, Stephane Ghenacia, Thomas Roland and Jon Woodall stole the show at our last gathering so we have our work cut out to keep the standards high. This inspires us to push the envelope further each and every week and emails have been sent to our extended clubbing family and friends. Expect the unexpected.

Invites can be collected personally on the island from Jim at Paradise Lost or from myself and Andy as and when you see us wandering the streets of Ibiza Town. You can also apply via Pikes website here.

PIKES GOES TO MANCHESTER

Here at the Badgers lair we are beyond excited to be able to mention that we are just one week away from our return visit to Manchester; a northern city very dear in our hearts for what will be the second instalment of the Pikes Ibiza Refuge Bank Holiday takeover – Return To Pikes at The Refuge.

With a lineup to rival anything happening on Ibiza this month we welcome back friends and family made along the way. Residents from We Love… Space rubbing shoulders with new friends from Pikes On Sundays sets the scene for a day / night can only end in trouble!
Starting the machine we’ve got yours truly and longtime family friends Jamie ‘Fatneck’ Low and The Acid house Death Squad kicking things off in the bar for the first five hours from midday before we’re joined by Pikes regular Neil Diablo of El Diablo’ Social Club and Passport To Paradise head honcho Craig Christon who will no doubt take things on a rather more left off centre bent before handing over control of the bar to Refuge favourite and no stranger to the stranger side of Ibiza, Paulette.
Courtyard action looking like a who’s who of awesome as It-Girl Annabel Fraser is joined by personal favourites James Holroyd and Ruf Dug ahead of Amnesia resident (and all round fucking legend) Leo Mas who’s set to bring some Balearic sunshine to Lancashire whilst the mighty Unabombers play a rare (nowadays) B2B courtyard closing set for the gathered faithful.
All great club nights are underpinned by their resident Djs and nighttime activities (ticket required) are handed over to four of the best in the game deep under the footpaths of Manchester for what will be the end to an incredible journey. Nancy Noise and Leo are joined by fellow Ibiza stalwart Paul Woolford. All three having held down incredible and much lauded Ibizan residencies are joined by one of Manchester’s finest residents Krysko.
Come on down and spice up your weekend with a little dash of Balearic flare!

TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED

After three wonderful summers soundtracking the poolside at Pikes On Sundays The Brothers Grim turn their attention to the nighttime. Musically the winters have been spent port-side at Paradise Lost rather than pool-side at Pikes and the brothers have had the opportunity to delve a little deeper into their collective boxes pulling out rare treats aplenty for a growing crowd of supporters. Getting to play a more electronic based selection re-triggered a love of the genre that Mark had almost lost since leaving Space in 2013 and this is were we now stand. On the cusp of something great. Tales Of The Unexpected – A Sunday Supper Club At Pikes Hotel.

The best things happen on a Sunday, the weekend is almost over, but not yet, and with one last day to enjoy before heading back to the grindstone thoughts turn to squeezing the last little bit of naughtiness out of our souls before we replace the fun us for the responsible them.

Starting the evening in Plaza Mayor with the true sound of the Balearic underground, friends and family guide us towards the nighttime activities within the hallowed walls of Freddies giving us the opportunity for an extended session showcasing some of the finest electronic acts on the scene right now in a unique and intimate setting.

Acts will not be pre-advertised so the only way to find out who’s playing is to come and the only way to come is by invite. Or wait to hear about it from your friends.

Sunday roasts will be served as per usual and poolside daytime drinking is heavily recommended. Of course anybody who’s there during the day can stay on for our nighttime session so if you don’t receive an invite this is your way in to the in crowd. For restaurant reservations give Pikes a call on 0034 971 34 22 22.

SUNDAY 22ND OCTOBER – CLOSING PARTY

We can hardly believe it’s nearly all over for another year! This Sunday we celebrate a third season of Pikes On Sundays with our 2017 Closing Party. We’ve had a fantastic Summer, created some special memories and destroyed a fair few braincells. Many, many thanks to everyone who has been involved over the last 6 months and a special shout-out to all the fantastic DJs who have graced the decks during the last 25 weeks. It’s been emotional!

For our final Sunday we have a few very special guests lined up to see us out in style. BJ Smith has made some of our favourite music over the last few years and his songs are a constant feature on the Pikes On Sundays playlist. We’re very happy to welcome him to the poolside DJ booth this week for his Pikes debut. Next up Bobby Pleasure and Itchy Rich, a couple of likely lads looking to show us Balearic fools that there is still joy to be found in the UK’s cooler, greyer pastures and that it’s not all about palm trees and cocktails. It’s also Bobby’s birthday so come on down and help us give him the bumps! Rounding out the lineup it’s our trusty residents The Brothers Grim playing an extended set to put the party to bed properly before focusing their attention onto their upcoming Halloween party.

Along with your last chance to soak up the poolside vibes this will also be your last chance to enjoy the famous Pikes Sunday Roast. The last chance to lose yourself in a gravy filled yorkshire pudding. The last chance to fill yourself full of roast potatoes. The last chance to grab that perfect slice of beef. The last chance to overload on cauliflower cheese. The last chance to find that extra bit of room for one more spoonful of dessert. We’re getting hungry just thinking about it! To reserve your table give Pikes a call on 0034 971 34 22 22.

Thanks again to everyone for a simply superb Summer and we hope to see some of you again this Sunday for one last spin of the wheel! Gracias amigos!
